EMBRACE THE PRINCIPLES OF AN ASHRAM

The Special Navratri Spiritual Retreat at Parmarth School of Yoga offers a transformative experience during the sacred nine nights of Navratri, a time dedicated to honouring the Divine Feminine energy. Held at Parmarth Niketan Ashram in Rishikesh, India, this retreat provides a unique opportunity to rejuvenate spiritually and physically in the serene surroundings of the Himalayas and the holy banks of the Ganges.

Under the guidance of Sadhvi Bhagawati Saraswatiji, the retreat immerses participants in a comprehensive program designed to awaken inner wisdom and divine energy. The curriculum includes daily sessions of pranayama (breathing exercises), basic yoga asanas such as Surya Namaskar, and eternal sound healing with gongs. Participants engage in spiritual question-and-answer sessions, meditation, observing silence, self-reflection, mantra chanting, and karma yoga. Sacred fire ceremonies and special rituals dedicated to the Mother Goddess further deepen the spiritual experience.

Each day concludes with the Ganga Havan and Aarti at sunset, followed by satsang, creating a harmonious blend of devotion and community. The retreat culminates on Dussehra with a special yagna/havan ceremony, symbolising the release of all that no longer serves and embracing transformation.

The retreat is designed for individuals seeking a deeper connection with themselves and the divine. Participants are encouraged to adhere to the ashram's guidelines, which include observing truth, non-violence, self-discipline, and polite etiquette. Modest attire is required, and certain activities such as smoking, drinking intoxicants, and using electronic entertainment are prohibited to maintain the sanctity of the retreat environment.

Parmarth Niketan Ashram, founded in 1942 and led by Pujya Swami Chidanand Saraswatiji Maharaj since 1986, is the largest ashram in Rishikesh. With over 1,000 rooms, it offers a clean, pure, and sacred atmosphere, attracting thousands of pilgrims from around the world. The ashram's lush gardens and proximity to the Ganges enhance the spiritual ambiance, making it an ideal setting for the Navratri retreat.

For those interested in participating, the retreat is scheduled from September 27 to October 2, 2025. Registration details and further information can be obtained directly from the Parmarth School of Yoga.
