FESTIVAL OF SPEED
The 2025 Goodwood Festival of Speed, presented by Mastercard and held from 10–13 July, is set to be the most spectacular edition yet, celebrating the 75th anniversary of the Formula 1 World Championship under the theme “The Winning Formula – Champions and Challengers.” This year’s event marks the biggest-ever F1 showcase at Goodwood, with over 80 Formula 1 cars spanning six distinct eras, ranging from pre-1950 Prologue vehicles to modern F1 machines, climbing the iconic Hillclimb course.
A central highlight is the Hillclimb, where a mile-long, nine-turn tarmac stretch challenges power and precision. Modern and historic vehicles race head-to-head as spectators line the banks, witnessing spectacular displays of speed and skill. Additionally, this year’s Forest Rally Stage brings back thrilling dirt-track action as rally cars zip through woodland terrain, providing a raw, adrenaline-fueled experience.
Beyond F1, the festival embraces a global celebration of motorsport, featuring champions from WEC, World Rally, Formula E, IndyCar, NASCAR, MotoGP, World Superbikes, and more. The iconic totem leads the paddock takeover, with live demonstrations, team exhibits, and car debuts in electric, hypercar, and historic categories. MoneyGram Haas F1 Team makes its Goodwood debut, complete with driver meet‑and‑greets and VF‑23/VF‑24 race cars on display.
This year also celebrates key motorsport anniversaries: 125 years since the Gordon Bennett Cup and the Thousand Mile Trial, and 100 years since Alfa Romeo’s first World Manufacturers’ Championship win. From the birth of Grand Prix racing to modern hybrid innovation, the event charts motorsport’s evolution in engine development, design, and engineering strides.
Innovation takes centre stage. The Supercar Paddock showcases cutting-edge road-going machines, while Electric Avenue shines a spotlight on zero-emission technology. Notable advancements include electric prototypes, autonomous vehicles, lightweight materials like graphene, active aero, and hybrid powertrains.
Finally, the Festival of Speed offers more than racing. It’s a full-blown spectacle—featuring air displays, extreme sports in the GAS Arena, Bonhams auctions, and style showcases like Style et Luxe. With interactive maps, hospitality packages, and family-friendly zones (kids under 12 enter free), it's a motoring garden party offering something for every enthusiast.
In all, the 2025 Festival of Speed promises to merge motorsport heritage, visionary technology, and immersive entertainment into one of the richest automotive experiences on the calendar. Whether you're an F1 purist, historic car aficionado, or future mobility enthusiast, Goodwood delivers an unforgettable celebration of speed.
